Reading Rally Today!!

Today is the Reading Rally!!!  I hope everyone is excited to attend because it should be funny and motivating.  I'm confident that everyone will be inspired to read, read, read, after today's rally!  No GS games today before the JH games.  Because of potential bad weather moving in, they moved the JH game up to a 4:30 start and just cancelled the GS game.  Looks like it's already getting bad out there--misty and overcast.  In both classes today we watched and practiced "Gotta Keep Reading" for the rally today, and we made sure everyone had a library book to take over to the rally!!

SR. Night--Tonight at the Ballgame

Tonight is Sr. night at the basketball game for our senior cheerleaders and athletes.  It is such a nice way to honor them and recognize their parents.  The ballgame starts at 6:30 against Ft. Supply.  The senior recognition will occur right before the girls game starts, I think.  I'm glad it's Friday.  Hope everyone has a stellar weekend!!

Nice Day Off Yesterday--Thanks Old Man Winter! :)

Well the good thing about cold weather is it sometimes brings about snow and ice which can sometimes force schools to close!!  I must admit, it was an enjoyable treat being out of school yesterday.  And now today is Friday, the last work day of the week.  Hello Weekend!!  Our boys are playing right now in the Okeene Tournament.  They got beat yesterday by Fairview.  Our girls beat Okeene and play tonight at 7:00.  Good luck to both teams.  Bring home some hardware.

Wild Wednesday that is Wet & Windy, Cold

Today's weather caught me a skosh off guard.  I was not prepared for it to be this cold.  I hope it warms up some or at least not be windy making the wind chill a factor.  Many students are involved in the 12 Month Dinner tonight as servers.  It is a good cause and a great learning experience.  I hope all that attend enjoy.  A huge thank-you shout out to all who help and are behind the scenes making it happen.  You do a great job.

Busy Week Starting This Monday!!

This is going to be a long and busy week.  Or maybe it's just busy for me?!  Tonight the JH plays at Fort Supply in their new gymnasium.  That should be exciting to see.  The 5&6 play in front of them at 4:30.  Good luck to all 4 teams.  There are no ballgames tomorrow night because of the 4-H and FFA Trophy Auction here in the cafeteria starting at 7:00.  If you would like to donate some money or sponsor a trophy for Leedey's Local Show, see Mr. Muret for details.  Wednesday night is the 12 Month Celebration Dinner at the Community Building for the women of Leedey.  It starts at 6:30 and is always a nice break from the daily grind of motherhood and work.  Thursday is the start of the Okeene HS Tournament.  Our boys play at 5:40 and the girls play at 7:00.  It's a long trip over there, but our kids see different and challenging teams.  Hope you can attend any of the games this week.  Our teams need the fans support!!  So, wowzer!!  Lots going on this week!!  And I'm already tired from a jam packed weekend.  :)

Hello Old Man Winter!!

Gosh, I think that old man winter has finally awakened from his nap and is charging right at us.  We've had a fairly mild winter so far.  Looks like this week we are in for some wintry business.  The JH teams are in the Dewey County Tournament at Seiling this week.  Tonight the girls play Arnett at 4:00 and the boys play Sharon-Mutual at 5:15.  Good luck and hope they bring home some hardware.  This week is Homecoming Week and today's dress-up day was Pajama and Crazy Hair Day.  All of the student body looks forward to these dress-up days.  Tomorrow it is Nerd Day or Gender-Bender Day.  Hmmm, maybe I'll come as a nerdy male teacher!!

Day Two for this Week=In the Bag!!

Well as excited as I was to get back to school, I am afraid this week might sort of  "drag" along since we've been used to being on break.  UUgh!!  ;)  However, we must fight through it and perservere.  We have writing tests and reading tests to prepare for and pass!!  So, let's get our hard hats on and get busy working!!  The HS plays at Vici tonight with the 3&4 playing in front of them at 4:00.

WELCOME BACK!!!!!

Hello and welcome back from Christmas Break!  I hope everyone is refreshed, rested, and ready to kick off the 2011 year with some sparks and a bang!!  My Christmas, New Year's, and birthday were all great!! I really enjoyed my kids and hubby, as well as seeing my family on both sides.  Good times and good memories were made!  This week is very busy--lots of activities going on.  The JH has a ballgame tonight against Merritt here at Leedey starting at 6:30.  The 5&6 play in front of them at 4:30.  The kids were all a buzz about what they got for Christmas and where they traveled to.  Both classes worked hard today.  Book Reports for this 9wk period is Sequoyah books from any year.  They have to give me two orals.  Make sure your child has a Sequoyah book checked out.  And hang in there--this week will probably seem long since we've been on VACAY!!
